Tutors for Complex Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (CLDD)

How We Can Help Complex Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (CLDD)

Our tutors can generate a teaching strategy that embraces a child with CLDD and their unique learning needs.

Understanding Complex Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (CLDD)

Complex Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (CLDD) refers to a group of educational needs and disabilities that coexist in children and young people. These conditions often overlap and interlock, creating a complex profile. Children and young people with CLDD have conditions that coexist with one or more special educational needs. These conditions can include co-existing conditions like Autism (ASD) and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), as well as Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).

Characteristics of CLDD

CLDD learners may have difficulties arising from various factors, such as premature birth, advanced medical interventions, parental substance or alcohol abuse, and rare chromosomal disorders. Some may also be affected by compounding factors like multisensory impairment, mental ill-health, or require invasive procedures (e.g., supported nutrition, assisted ventilation, and rescue medication).
